Bob and Anne Wilson - Lancelin
Product Information
Bob and Anne Wilson farm just 25km from the coast in a 650mm rainfall zone, but they are effectively dealing with drought for six months of the year.
They lease a 2,000ha property, 'Tagasaste Farm', located near Lancelin, 150km north of Perth. Soils are predominantly grey sand over yellow sand and the undulating property is dedicated to beef production.
Having established perennials over the past 20 years - initially the fodder shrub tagasaste and more recently subtropical perennial grasses - they have been able to extend their growing season and carry more stock over the summer.
