The preliminary framework and industry profiles, developed during the pilot phase of the Signposts for Australian Agriculture project, provides a draft framework for reporting on the contribution of Australian agriculture to ecologically sustainable development. The framework is being developed through a consultative process and readers are invited to respond to questions posed throughout the report.

The appendices use the draft framework to develop profiles of an industry’s contributions to ESD and provide examples of what a profile may look like for an individual industry. Each industry profile provides a set of ESD component trees and hyperlinks to relevant information.

During the pilot phase of the Signposts for Australian Agriculture project, the Audit sponsored a project with Land & Water Australia to provide an initial stocktake of the current extent of reporting by Research and Development Corporations on the contribution of their industries to Ecologically Sustainable Development.
