National Media Tour

In December 2005, Land, Water & Wool and Currie Communications hosted national media on a two-day tour of the program’s research and producer network sites across central and western Victoria.

The tour provided an opportunity for highly influential media, including representatives from The Australian, The Age, ABC-TV and ABC Radio, ABC Landline, The Weekly Times, Rural Press and leading regional papers such as the Ballarat Courier to explore Land, Water & Wool’s research and development activities, the implications of this work for the wool industry and wider community and the results to date.

The tour party visited a range of wool growing and mixed farming properties involved in the Land, Water & Wool research program with the farmers involved in the research present at each site visit.

A number of experienced researchers were also on the tour providing expert commentary, which was reinforced by local project leaders once on-site.
